As the oldest African-American neighborhood in North Memphis, Klondike has a long and proud history dating to its founding in 1899. But today Klondike also has its share of challenges. Population decline, low homeownership rates, vacancy and abandonment have set in.
Moving Klondike Forward is an inclusive revitalization effort among the community and partners to make Memphis and Klondike pioneers in the reclamation and rebirth of neglected urban neighborhoods in the U.S.

The Willie Mae Brooks Resource Center, on 1300 Jackson Ave, will serve as a community hub for workshops, community gatherings, and trainings to provide valuable resources to invest in the Klondike community.
